Many offenders from North Wales must serve their prison sentence a long way from home. This can mean sorrow and confusion for both prisoner and family. Coming home can be just as difficult. That’s why BARA helps people back home, whether they are ex-offenders or families. Our network of dedicated volunteers make this work possible. We offer a listening ear as well as practical support, where possible.

Everyone’s needs are different. BARA aims to support ex-offenders and their families where they need it most. Some individuals need help to find accommodation or to deal with alcohol and other substance misuse. Others need encouragement with work, education or leisure. BARA offers companionship on the journey towards a stable life outside prison.
